![]() Nick has released three commercially-available recordings of his music. The first, Sapling (2003) consists of chamber music and a number of "blues" hybrid works. The second and third, The Oneiric (2004) and The Story of the Morning (2005) are part of a collaborative rock/art song crossover project called, "Qwas" with singer Melanie Curcio. Nick also performs on laptop with The Back Feet Forward Ensemble, an experimental multimedia collaboration (pictured above). | Nicholas A. Sibicky (b. 1983) - Nick grew up in a small town in northeastern Connecticut. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Music Composition from the The Hartt School of Music at the age of 19 and completed a Master's degree there two years later. He has studied with composers Donald Grantham, Russell Pinkston, James Sellars, Ingram Marshall, Joseph Turrn, Stephen Gryc, Ken Steen, Dan Welcher, Robert Carl, and the Emmy-Award winning Jim Chapdelaine. ![]() Nick has been commissioned for a wide variety of music, including Marcel Worms (Blues for Zephyr), The Tipping Point Saxophone Quartet (Life and Afterlife), The Hartford Symphony Orchestra (orchestration: Mountain Spring Road), The Goldspiel/Provost Guitar Duo (Fourteen) and Spetrino Pictures (film score: Ringolivio). He is currently teaching electronic music at the University of Texas while concurrently working on a doctorate degree in Music Composition. ![]() |
