Fireflies selected for performance at this year's NACUSA

The National Association of Composers USA (NACUSA) selected and performed Fireflies on its 3-day national festival from March 10th-12th in Portland, OR. Portland's newspaper, The Oregonian reviewed the event and singled out Fireflies describing it as being both "fittingly bright and amiably mysterious" for the national event.

Blues Beyond Borders

A short piano work of mine, written for pianist Marcel Worms, was just published by Peer Music Classical in a compilation of pseudo-blues. The work can now be purchased from Peer Music or other fine music retailers in score or score+CD formats. The title of my work that was included in the compilation is "Blues for Zephyr." More info can be found here.

Musaic 2009

This year, I curated the first music+theatre+media+dance performance event at Edmonds Community College. It took place in the brand new, state-of-the art Black Box theatre which was an ideal location for an event such as this. We near-packed the 150-seat auditorium and presented new works by Jim Quatier, Carlye Embring, Jonas Mechtersheimer, Azan Jacobs, Cody Cadden, and Kasey Clarke. A binaural-sound-art installation was also set up outside the theatre space by Rigel Ifland. Many thanks to all who helped make this such a successful event!

Tritonal

Congratulations to my former student, Chad Cisneros, and his new trance project, Tritonal. They have had a string of successes lately, the most recent of which is having a track of theirs achieve a #2 ranking at beatport.com's Top 100 list. I wish Chad and his group continued success, and hope that this is just the start to a long list of things to come. If you'd like to hear some of their tracks, visit their myspace.

Planeshift

I have just finished composing and orchestrating the new theme to the in-progress Atomic Blue videogame, Planeshift. A final release date for the game has not been decided yet. However, you may hear the new theme here or take a look at the development website here.
